Shamanic Practitioner

is a licensed Clinical Psychologist, Shamanic Practitioner, and Soul Memory Discovery facilitator who, since 1992, has studied with Tibetan, Hindu, and Sufi  healers; with Lakota elders; and with Michael Harner’s Foundation for Shamanic Studies.  Karen leads shamanic workshops, conducts drumming circles, and gives seminars and lectures on Peruvian mysticism in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange County.  She is a former board advisor to the Native American Institute in Orange County.  In 2006, and 2007, she led groups to Peru to work with don Americo Yabar and other indigenous shamans, and is planning a third journey to Peru in 2009.  Karen has published several literary poems, is an author contributor to Steven Farmer’s, Sacred Ceremony, and has recently completed, but not yet published, a novel about Peruvian shamanism entitled The Pachacuti Time.  Currently she has a private practice in Costa Mesa, California, with a special emphasis in spiritual psychology.
